The "Benefits" of Living on Campus

When one thinks about the basic constructs of attending a university of higher learning, living in a dorm with a roommate on campus is one of the first ideas to pop into his or her head.  Many schools want students to live on campus for a multitude of reasons such as a lack of places to live off campus, to promote school spirit, or to allow its younger students to get the "full college experience".  UNCC has, throughout the duration of its existence, become known as a "commuter school" in which students live in off campus apartments and come to school via car, bus, etc.  On campus, many types of media, specifically signs, promote on-campus living and in some cases attempt to bribe students with DB and more meal swipes in order to promote living in a dorm.  While financially more strategic to live off campus, the school still wants students to live on campus for reason of promoting school spirit as well as eliminating the commuter tag that is associated with UNCC.  The media on campus can be seen in the slides below:
